This week, we were proud to announce The Line: Alberta, our first provincial bureau and a standalone publication under The Line banner. This new project will focus explicitly on Alberta — its politics, its culture, and its place in Canada’s national story. In the days since, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get all the technical backend stuff running. We’re getting there! More on that below.
But first, some housekeeping. If you're receiving this, you're on our The Line: Alberta list — transferred automatically from our main Line subscriber base. If you're excited about the new The Line: Alberta content, great! There's more coming soon, including a new podcast hosted by Rob Breakenridge. Our first episode is now recorded, and we’ll be releasing a teaser episode on Monday morning. Watch for that! You don’t have to do anything to receive this content. You’re signed up.
If Alberta-specific content isn’t your thing, though, no problem — scroll to the very bottom of this email and hit the unsubscribe link. That will opt you out of Alberta content only. You’ll still receive everything from our main site at ReadTheLine.ca, with no changes to your existing subscription.
Thanks again for reading — and for your patience while we get this new bureau up and running. We’re going to keep hammering the Unsubscribe option in our first few posts, just to give people the chance to opt out. After that, you’re stuck with us! (You’re not, but we’ll be less overt about pointing toward the door.)
And! Exciting! Our podcast feeds are coming online! It takes a little while but the big ones are now available, and you can find them below.
Note! The audio version of The Line: Alberta Podcast will be released through these channels, not our existing Line channels. Video will be on our main (existing) YouTube channel, which you can find here. And it will also go out over our social media accounts. If you want the audio versions, subscribe at the apps below:

More options to come, but the big ones are now online.
Thanks for putting up with all this boring stuff. The actual content will start next week. Stay tuned!
